Vitamins and minerals both are very important for maintaining a healthy body. Both are necessary for a healthy body some consider they both are same. But they purely differ from each other. We can check it out the difference between them below. 


Difference between vitamins and minerals :

  • Vitamins are organic compound where minerals are inorganic.
  • Vitamins come from plants and animals while minerals come from soil and water.
  • Vitamins can be differentiated as water-soluble and fat-soluble while minerals can be divided into macrominerals and trace minerals.
  • Minerals are much simpler than the vitamins in their chemical form.
  • Vitamins can be called as chemical compounds and minerals can be said to be chemical elements.
  • Vitamins can releasing energy from the food, developing red blood cells, blood clotting and is needed for the maintaining healthy skin, eye, and hair on the other hand minerals can help in tooth formation, blood coagulation, muscle and bone contraction and also in keeping acid-alkaline balance in the blood.
